Medina HS Girls Win Rugby 7s State Championship

Medina HS Girls won the RugbyOhio 7s State Championship on Sunday afternoon in Dublin, OH. The Lady Bees went undefeated in the tournament with wins over Walnut Hills 32-0 and Brunswick 12-5 in Pool Play, and a 17-12 win over Highland in the semifinals. This set-up a rematch with Brunswick for the Championship. Persevering through wet and muddy field conditions, Medina ground out a 19-5 win to bring home the trophy. The Medina High School Girls Rugby program now has the distinction of winning State Championships in both formats of rugby (7s & 15s) having won a State Championship in 15s in 2018.
